Welcome to Hatzic Hockey Academy. The Hockey Academy is structured and dedicated to not only training and developing players to reach the next level in the sport of hockey, but also to support the academic and citizenship potential of every athlete. Both on ice and dryland programs are intensive in their design in developing hockey skills and tactics, physical strength, speed and endurance. As educators we are passionate towards supporting each athlete in meeting their potential in academics and developing healthy and strong citizenship and leadership skills. In the end, it is our goal to develop excellent hockey players, and equally as important strong citizens with an instilled sense of values to be used in everyday life.
The program design is intense and demanding, where players will rotate through an alternating session of off-ice training one day to on-ice training the next. Over a ten day cycle it will provide students with 6.25 hours of on-ice, and 6.25 of off-ice training. Please visit our program pages to learn and view how we, through a rigorous and supportive develop players to become better hockey players.
The Hockey Program is a credited course with the Mission School District and earns four credits for the on-ice, and four for the off-ice per year at each of its levels. For the 2009-2010 school year, the Hockey Program will be run every third block of the day which is a stationary block within the existing tumbling time table. Players ice time will be at the same time of day, each session. From 12:05 to 1:15 every afternoon.
